The annual Lamar County Academic Competition was held on April 15th at Lamar County High School. We appreciate everyone who came out and supported our students. It was an enjoyable evening of students showcasing their academic knowledge.
This was the closest competition we have witnessed in recent years. The Language Arts and Social Studies competitions were both decided by a tie-breaker between Lamar County High and Sulligent.
Congratulations to our teams and scholarship winners. We are so proud of you!

School nurses will be available to accept medications and to review your child’s health plans with you between the hours of 9:00 am and 2:00 pm, Monday, August 17 through Thursday, August 20. We ask that you go to your child’s school campus, stay in your vehicle, call the school office, and one of our nurses will give you further instructions. Please have your healthcare provider fill out the School Medication Prescribed / Parent Authorization Form if needed.
Parents of students,
If you or someone in your family has tested positive, are experiencing symptoms, or have come in contact with someone who has tested positive, we ask that you do not come on school campus or send your child to school or school activities. Call your school office, and they will give you instructions on how to collect your child’s assignments.
