Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Lana Langley
I will begin my 4th year at Vernon Elementary School during the 2021-2022 school year. As the new school year begins, I will be changing roles from a Speech-Language Pathologist to a Kindergarten teacher. I am excited to enter this new season at Vernon Elementary School.
Over the last 27 years, I have worked with a variety of populations and disorders. Before my employment with Lamar County in 2018, I was the Speech-Language Pathologist for the Tuscaloosa District of Children’s Rehabilitation Service (CRS) where I was the Clinic Coordinator of the Augmentative Communication and Technology (ACT) clinic and an evaluating team member for Feeding and Cleft/Lip Palate clinics. During my time at CRS, I was promoted to District Supervisor for the Tuscaloosa and Selma offices but realized I missed working with children and found my way to Lamar County. My past work experience includes providing early and preschool intervention services to little ones, as well as speech positions in the Fayette County school system, home health, and private practice settings.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Communicative Disorders from the University of Mississippi and a Master of Science in Speech Pathology from the Mississippi University for Women. I obtained a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from the University of Alabama, Birmingham. I have served as the SHAA Councilor of Speech-Language Pathology. I have served two terms representing District 4 for the Alabama Board of Examiners for Speech Pathology and Audiology as Chairperson, Recording Secretary, and Chairperson of the Rules and Regulation Committee.
I am married to Chuck Langley and have two children, Sara and Alan. We are excited to welcome our future Son-in-Law, Rich to the Langley family in September.
I look forward to using my skills and experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist with my very first kindergarten class. It’s going to be a FANTASTIC year.
